Letter From The Editor
Dear Readers,
Is there life after college?
As someone who is set to walk across a stage in May, I have been asking myself this question often. The majority of my time within the past few years has been dedicated to getting a degree. Being a student became a giant part of my identity and college campuses became a second home. Knowing that my time as a student would eventually come to an end, I began to explore what life could be like outside of college and all of the fears that come with it. As college students, we can all relate to the fear of the unknown and what waits for us on the other side.
So, what does life look like after college? For those who took out student loans, it means a start to repayments and a first look at the student debt crisis in our country. For others, it means spending months applying to jobs in constantly changing fields, and competing with the likes of AI. For all of us, it means a new start.
In this issue of Scene Magazine, we set out to explore the different journeys people take after college. We found that there is not a blueprint for life after graduation. Sometimes, college can lead people to jobs in their field. Sometimes, people decide that pursuing a degree is not the right path for them and explore other options. Either way, we hope that our stories bring you comfort that life can exist after college. I hope that our stories bring you hope that dreams can be accomplished with or without a college degree.
